Going Going Gluten Free – Jeremy Scott Fitness
For the past week and moving through the moth of May I Jeremy Scott am and will be living my life Gluten FREE – yes and some of you may ask what the hell is Gluten FREE mean?
According to my home state Mayo Clinic health gurus it means
A gluten-free diet is a diet that excludes the protein gluten. Gluten is found in grains such as wheat, barley, rye and triticale (a cross between wheat and rye).
A gluten-free diet is used to treat celiac disease. Gluten causes inflammation in the small intestines of people with celiac disease. Eating a gluten-free diet helps people with celiac disease control their signs and symptoms and prevent complications.
I have been working with the Gluten Free Allergy Guru Kim Wilson-Mase and talking with her about Gluten Free & Allergy Free living, Kim is a JSF Athlete and an authority figure on the subject.
If you guys ever wanted to checkout Kim’s awesome Food Allergy handbook here is a great resource – https://ey106.infusionsoft.com/go/HBPK/kvfamily/
Now I don’t have celiac disease however after undergoing allergy testing I have a high sensitivity to gluten among other things such as various dairy products –(milk, cheese, yogurt) so for the next month and probably moving forward into my lifestyle long term – I will be rocking out gluten free and for a majority dairy free – no pizza & ice cream for this guy (not happy about that) – however in the recent months I have noticed the lingering affects of my “cheat” meals and “binge” eating of these foods and it’s unpleasant. The bloating, indigestion, fatigue, and just overall GROSS feeling I have had.
It’s been about 10 days now – 5 of which I had the flu –which made it easier and on side note if you are looking to avoid the flu check this link here from Kim Wilson-Mase http://cookitallergyfree.com/blog/2013/01/how-to-prevent-the-stomach-flu-naturally/
So that’s my plan moving forward nutrition and health wise – I am interested to see how it makes me feel day to day and also any affects it has on my physique as well over the next month my guess it will do nothing but improve my overall performance and conditioning as well. I will keep you posted and until next time – work hard, eat clean, be nice to people, and don’t text and drive!
