How being awful makes you awesome
Monday is back and so are we with a throwback #mandatoryminute blooper video for you CLICK HERE to soak it in.
Most of you have seen me coach in person, online, came to an event I spoke at, or if nothing else listened to and watched me on video over the years.
Some of you have seen the progress over the years.
Many of you just stumbled onto me recently via Instagram or Facebook.
What you see now in terms of my coaching and speaking both online and in-person is a direct result of me being awful for many years.
What most of you will never see is the:
Thousands of failed attempts….
Horrible outtake after outtake after outtake…
Hundreds of hours of practicing into the mirror…
Days practicing into my phone then critiquing myself after…
Nights studying, watching, and modeling others to become better…
Surrounding myself with the best in the industry to learn from…
The takeaway – when you see someone good-great-phenomenal at something its ONLY because they failed and were awful for a long time before that.
Those of us who have failed the most tend to end up being the best overtime. The key is to stick with it, stay consistent with improvement and understand in the world where everyone is sprinting for success, it’s a marathon and if you run it that way you will win.
So, if you find yourself being awful, failing fast, failing often, just know that is the exact start to any successful persons journey.
When we fail it’s hard to see the positive in it, but without resistance there can be no true growth. This is true for fitness and any area of life; the struggle builds muscle both physically and metaphorically.
Until next time eat well, train hard & be nice to people.
