Jeremy Scott -MRI/PROLAB Athlete
So, maybe you have heard of Beta Alanine and you might be wondering what is it exactly? And do I need to be taking it to enhance my training?
Let’s break it down for you guys simple stupid science style…..
Beta alanine is a natural occurring non-essential amino acid that is converted to different various chemicals that can then affect muscles.
Per the good folks over at the examine.com they spouted off this little gem about Beta Alanine – “Beta-alanine is the building block of carnosine, a molecule that helps to buffer acid in muscles, increasing physical performance in the 60-240 second range. Beta-alanine can aid lean mass gain. Carnosine appears to be an anti-oxidant and anti-aging compound.”
So why do you care? Well if you like hitting more reps and working out a little harder a little longer check this out….
“Beta-alanine has been shown to enhance muscular endurance. Many people report being able to perform one or two additional reps in the gym when training in sets of 8-15 repetitions. Beta-alanine supplementation can also improve moderate to high intensity cardiovascular exercise performance, like rowing or sprinting.” – per the examine.com
I personally love taking PROLAB’s Beta Alanine & MRI’s Beta Charge – if I am training later at night since it is stimulant free and won’t disrupt my sleep cycle. If you guys want to take a deeper look into how you can super charge your training – and see the numerous benefits of Beta Alanine check out more info here.
I think it’s a great alternative to many of the current stimulant packed pre-workouts out there and perfect for endurance athletes looking to push the pace and tempo of their training harder and longer.
All in all …… Beta Charge tastes legit, with no fake sweetners, this is a real product, that can add a much needed kick to your training sessions, my advice pick up a jar and see for yourself what it can bring to the table…..just be warned your face might feel like it’s on fire but trust me that’s just to make sure you are ready for a kick ass workout.
Enjoy and please let us know how you loved it!
Leave any questions and comments below you might have about Beta Alanine and Beta Charge and if you think it’s a good fit for your current nutriton and training program.
