Why I Keep Waking Up at 3:50am
I been doing this fitness thing for a long time…. 16 years to be exact.
Got my first training certification in 2005.
Went out 100% on my own in 2010 and opened Jeremy Scott Fitness.
Susan Brady walked into our space 10 years ago to the day with a Groupon in hand rocking jean shorts and little to no knowledge on fitness and nutrition.
Now she can show damn every exercise perfectly through full range of motion, knows more about nutrition than many fitness pros, takes time to foam roll and incorporate mobility daily and truly has become a “fitness” person …it’s nothing short of impressive.
She is not perfect none of us are but she has consistently shown up and put in effort for a decade to be healthier, to move better and to feel better.
Not to mention listening to me for a decade.
The takeaway: It doesn’t matter where you are at today. If you commit to something and try everyday to be a little bit better it can change your life. Its not magic, it’s not quick, it sure as hell isn’t easy but it’s 100% worth it.
A lot of my peers and friends wonder why I keep getting up at 3:50am to coach people in person at this juncture of my career.
I do it because of people like Susan, because people truly need it, because I feel it sincerely matters.
If my main goal was to make as much money as possible I would close the gym down tomorrow, as it’s not the best financial use of my time.
But without the people and without the relationships it would just be a job with little meaning to me …so I continue to show up day in and day out for these amazing people.
The people and the relationships really are everything in fitness very similar to life!
Until next time eat well, train hard & be nice to people.
